TWM ASKS INDUSTRY EXPERTS THEIR ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR DREAM WEDDING DAY.

Describe yourself in one sentence.

I would say I'm a relaxed perfectionist! I take my work very seriously, but I do love a chat and a good laugh!

As a makeup artist what are your top 2 tips for couples to help relieve stress and overwhelm in the lead up to the day?

I think the number one advice I would give to couples is to choose vendors whose work is aligned to your style/vision, whether it be your makeup and hair stylist, cake maker, photographer, florist etc. We are so spoiled to be living in a day and age where you can jump on instagram and view portfolios so easily! You will always get a creative's best work by hiring them based on their signature style, find your inspo within their previous work rather than from pinterest or other artists. This will definitely make you feel far more relaxed on the day knowing you're in safe hands and your expectations are going to be much more closely met!

Number two would be the more organised you are the better! In my experience, the couples who are super organised in the planning stage are typically more relaxed on the wedding day as everything has been ticked off! Although it's important to enjoy the planning and not get too stressed, being too 'chilled' can be abit of a curse!

What is one thing you see couples stress over on the day?

Timing! When your MUA or hairdresser gives you a start time that seems way too early you need to trust them! We've done this so many times and we know how quickly your morning will go! There is nothing worse than rushing on your wedding day, it's a morning that should flow at an enjoyable pace!

What would be your message to couples on the day? or the best advice you have received.

The best advice I received as a bride before my wedding day was to 'feel your feet on the ground'. As everyone will tell you the day flies by so fast , it's important to have moments in the day where you feel completely present. I remember sitting having my hair done in my silk robe, glass of bubbles in hand and I had that moment on my own to feel my feet on the ground, it almost feels as if the time slows completely down and you can just take it all in!
